Description

‘The Author provides a delightful account of a white child growing up and in
combat in colonial Africa. I commend this most valuable contribution to the historical canon of Rhodesia’s bush war.’
– Dr. J.R.T. Wood

Some Readers Comments
“When it comes to gripping and descriptive prose about air-borne assaults, technology, leadership, young boys at war, courage, fear, morale, sadness, humour, exhaustion and all else in the combat mix, Henson tells it with brutal and refreshing honesty.” – S Scouts Operator

“The Author, in sole command of airborne soldiers witnessed incredible acts of valour and military success during his service with the Rhodesian Light Infantry. This book builds on the author’s previous. A ‘must read’ for every student of Military History; its lessons are universal, its events legendary.” – SW

“This story is told with Rhodesians’ unique sense of humour which anesthetised its citizens against the reality of daily onslaught and impending loss.” – AG
